There are many ways to serve at Lighthouse.  Here are some ideas:

• Teach a five-week session of Kingdom Cove or help with other children's ministries
• Be a small group leader for the middle or high-school youth
• Lead a life group
• Go on a mission trip

"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:24)

At Lighthouse Community Church, we believe that worship is more than something that happens on Sunday mornings!  We believe that worship is more than a “style”.  We believe that worship is our response to God with our lives, out of thankfulness and awe for all that He has done and is continuing to do for us and through us.  

Worship is more than simply music.  As Matt Redman wrote in his song “The Heart of Worship”,

“When the music fades and all is stripped away, and I simply come,
 longing just to bring something that’s of worth that will bless Your heart…
I’ll bring You more than a song, for a song in itself is not what You have required.
You search much deeper within, through the way things appear, You’re looking into my heart.
I’m coming back to the heart of worship, ‘cause it’s all about You, it’s all about You Jesus.”

Our desire at Lighthouse is to have that “heart of worship”.  It is obvious through the Psalms, and many other places in God’s Word, that playing and singing music is one way in which we worship God.

“Sing to the LORD, you saints of His; praise His holy name!” ~ Psalm 30:4

“Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.” ~ Psalm 47:6

When Jesus went to the well in Samaria, the Samaritan woman made this statement to Him in John 4:19, “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”  Jesus answered her by saying, “…a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem…yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”  Our desire at Lighthouse is to worship God in spirit--with our very souls, and in truth--with the knowledge we have in the fact that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no one comes to the Father but through Him!  We worship Him together as a body through song, prayer, the spoken Word and fellowship--sharing lives in Christ together!

At Lighthouse Community Church, we believe that praise and worship are an active, dynamic, integral link between God and His people. The music ministry seeks to serve Him humbly in a spirit of excellence through music and to lead others into His presence so that we glorify God as one body with one voice through one Spirit. To God be the glory-FOREVER!
