The Body Life class is for those who have been attending Lighthouse for awhile but are not yet plugged in. In addition, it provides an opportunity for those who have questions about the ministry at Lighthouse or about the beliefs that we hold for truth. This class typically lasts for five weeks and is held during the Education Hour between services.
The Body Life class offers a laid-back environment in which we:
- Build relationships with others who have recently begun attending at Lighthouse.
- Have the opportunity to ask ANY questions we may have.
- Search God's Word for answer to these questions.
- Discover our spiritual gifts.
- Discuss how we can get plugged-in to the ministry here at Lighthouse.
The Body Life Class is offered at various times throughout the year. Why a Church in History class? We've all heard the saying, "history repeats itself". How true that statement is! In a world where many "new ideas" or "new beliefs" are supposedly arising, we can see by studying the Church in History that what Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:9 is true: "...there is nothing new under the sun".
What is the Church? How did it start? What was God's intent for the Church? How has man gotten in the way and caused divisions? How did we get to where we are today? Where does Lighthouse Community Church fit in all of this? Where do YOU fit in all of this?
This class is so much more than a history class! By studying the Church in History with us, you will receive tools with which you will be able to share the TRUTH of God's Word with others. By seeing the struggles of the early church and seeing how TRUTH always wins out, you will be encouraged in your daily walk with Christ.
This class is being taught by Pastor Steve and Chad using the book "The Church in History" by B. K. Kuiper. This book begins with the first Church, the New Testament Church. It shows us what happened in the following 1,500 years and why the Reformation was necessary. The book then takes us up through today, explaining how and why different denominations came to be and then calls us to a look forward--and be a part of God's story--HIStory!
The Men's Group is an opportunity for all men to get together and explore God's Word together. It is also an opportunity to share life and to pray for each other. The Men's Group is currently studying through:
"A Tender Warrior...every man's purpose, every woman's dream, every child's hope."
The Men's Group meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm in room #104.
