Purpose: Loving God Together
Investing in Each Other
Forming Friendships
Exploring God’s Word Together
Vision: To become a church where nobody feels alone or without hope and everyone stays connected.
Life Groups exist to provide an environment in which Christ-followers, new believers and seekers are comfortable and are able to grow in their walk with Christ by sharing life together. This includes the study of God’s word together, supporting each other, and holding each other accountable; to make disciples!
Values to Promote Disciple Making
1) Loving God Together
By loving God together, we are able to hold each other accountable in our personal pursuit of a closer relationship with Christ and to develop and maintain a Christ-like character.
2) Investing in Each Other and Forming Friendships
By investing in each other and forming friendships, we build a community in which everyone is comfortable and open to share in struggles and joys together. We build relationships which are healthy and supportive. We also invest in each other by serving each other, looking at what others need and showing the love of Christ.
3) Exploring God’s Word Together
Life Groups is a place where we can support each other and build each other up. However, that includes searching God’s Word together as we support each other. We as sinful people can still let each other down, but God and His Word are unchanging, full of hope, and ultimately our first and final means of support. By exploring God’s Word together, we are pursuing God’s calling to us to be His witnesses, and to depend solely on Him to fulfill His mission in our lives.
We have many different groups meeting at different times throughout the week or month. Most of the groups meet on the first and third Sunday nights of each month. Some meet at the Life Group leader’s homes while others take turns hosting. We believe that Life Groups are a vital part of the health and growth of Lighthouse!
