From before God created, He had the cross in mind … and everything that would take place after Jesus died on the cross, including YOUR life! “He chose us in Him (Christ) before the foundation of the world, … In love He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ … to the praise of His glorious grace!” (Ephesians 1:4-6). In the centuries that passed from the time Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden until Jesus went to the cross, then rose from the dead, God pointed those whom He chose toward the salvation He would provide through the coming “Messiah,” the “Anointed One,” the “Christ.” In the year 2022, most of the human race lies in spiritual darkness, unable and unwilling to see “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6). But to us who by His grace believe in Jesus today, God has revealed the pathway to a relationship with Him … a relationship that gives us hope and strength and courage and boldness to live our lives seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness! Throughout the Old Testament God displayed His wisdom, grace, and power in the lives of His people. As we review some of these “Old Testament Stories,” you will hear over and over again of God’s love and grace toward His children and be encouraged to place your trust in the One who sent His own Son to be your Savior and your Lord! His power is now at work in every true believer, conforming us to the image of Christ, and then using us to shine His light into the darkness by proclaiming His strength and pointing people to Jesus!! May this series of messages from God’s Word, “From Eden … to the Cross!”, both equip and inspire you to let the light of His truth and grace shine through YOU in the new year!!
