Romans 7-9: “God’s Work in His Chosen Ones”

Perfection!! It is impossible for human beings to even imagine perfection, let alone produce it; and yet, we crave it and even at times expect it. We want perfect relationships, perfect weather, the perfect job, perfect health, and the list goes on. We expect others to BE perfect, while we excuse ourselves by saying, “Nobody’s perfect!” We live in a broken world where sin has negatively affected our lives in every possible way, and we live among a people who keep trying to “fix” it … without GOD!! “We can make the country better!” “We can make the world a better place to live!” As followers of Jesus Christ we are called to be salt and light by pointing people to the one true God who has revealed Himself in His Word and in His Son Jesus Christ. HE is our hope and through the Gospel He offers life in a truly perfect world, in the new heavens and the new earth, to those who repent and believe! As we live in this world THIS God, the only true God, our Creator, is at work to gather, defend and preserve those whom He has chosen and predestined for glory, for perfection. He has given us His Spirit and is working in every situation and circumstance to conform us to the image of His Son, working all things together for our good. These things we believe and these things we must proclaim. Only then can you have the assurance that no matter what happens in the world around you, God’s blessed assurance is yours by grace through faith!!
