Looking at all the problems plaguing the human race in our day it is easy to despair when looking ahead to the future. Will there ever be peace? No! Will people ever learn to get along? No! Will things be better for future generations? No!! Then how do you keep going? You rest in the promises of God in Christ Jesus, the Messiah, the Christ, the King, our Savior and our Lord!! Some believe that looking to the future GOD promises to those who know Him, who believe in Him, is like believing in a fairytale … it’s for children or for those who are naïve enough to imagine such things actually happening. These forget, however, that many of the prophecies God revealed through the prophets have already been fulfilled in the first coming of Jesus and so, in their ignorance, they fail to see the hope God offers in His promise to bring to pass the rest of His promises for those who believe when Jesus returns. We who believe resist the temptation to despair because we KNOW God and we KNOW He will keep His promises. Isaiah’s prophecies about the future of Jerusalem point us, today, to OUR future, to the future reign of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on this earth in the city of Jerusalem, before all the nations of the world. We worship the one true God in the name of Jesus because we know He is with us today and He will be with us tomorrow, that not even death can separate us from His love in Christ. With this hope we endure, we overcome, we have victory in Jesus!!!
