THIS Is Eternal Life!
It all comes down to this!! Everything we say we believe points to the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of God’s kingdom, where He will reign over the new heaven and the new earth … FOREVER!!! And we who by His grace know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord will live with Him as we behold His glory. The description of the transition from this world to our final eternal state is brief, yet reveals all that we need to know to have hope, peace, love, and joy now, even as we look forward to what is yet to come. If it is true that “happiness is the anticipation of things to come,” then we, of all people, should be HAPPY! We KNOW what the future holds for those who are united to Christ by grace through faith. All that God has promised His children will come to pass just as He has said. Revelation is the “uncovering” of the final details of God’s plan. Prophecy is unique to the Bible, God’s Word, and in the final letter to the churches, God gives through the Apostle John, a glimpse into the future. Is this YOUR future? How often, or how little, do you think about these things?? As we approach the end of another year it is a good time to look forward, but not just to a new year. The question, “What are you living for?” can only be answered correctly when you know WHOM you are living for!!! Only you can answer that, but answer it you must. “THIS is eternal life: that they know YOU, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent!” (John 17:3). May the knowledge of these things fill your mind and heart with the hope, peace, love, and joy that are found only in living with and for God, now … and forever!!
