“WE EXIST TO PROCLAIM THE REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST OVER ALL THINGS; GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!”

7 – “The Parables of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Lost Sons”

The Parables of Jesus

The “lostness” of the people around us is so obvious to those who have been confronted by the reality of our own sin and the consequences sin brings in people’s lives and in the whole world. There is a deep spiritual disease and darkness that permeates every corner of the planet. While people buy into the lie that mankind can save the planet, the truth is we cannot even save ourselves!! The worst problem facing mankind is not climate change, it is the impending judgment of God! This is why Jesus’ parables in Luke 15 are so powerful, as they display God’s initiative to “find” those who are lost and to bring them into the safety of His “pasture.” Perhaps the only thing worse than being lost is either not knowing you are lost or refusing to admit you are lost. Many who are spiritually dead and lost continue to insist they are alive and well as their lives spiral downward. Rejecting God’s offer of forgiveness and life, they persist in their sin, running away from God rather than toward Him, pursuing their idols and indulging in manmade “remedies” in a vain attempt to ease their guilt and their anxiety and fear. BUT GOD … who is rich in mercy, sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty of sin for all who believe, and by the power of His Spirit reveals His love and grace through His Word, welcoming all who repent and believe into His presence, where there is forgiveness, life, joy and peace of heart and mind. Praise God if you have received His grace in Jesus Christ, for you are His, now and forever. And pray for those who are still lost, that God may, according to His will, yet “find” them and move their souls to seek after Him. He is able!!
