“WE EXIST TO PROCLAIM THE REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST OVER ALL THINGS; GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!”

10 – The Beginning Of ‘the Week That Was’!

Stand Alone Sermon: Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday celebrations have been very upbeat and joyful in past years as we head into “Holy Week,” but this year is different. It seems harder to celebrate as we look forward to what may become one of the most difficult periods of time for the world since World War II. The mere scope of the pandemic and the resulting consequences make this a worldwide problem that people from all nations are having to deal with … kind of like SIN!! The virus has been called“an invisible enemy.” You know it’s there when you see the symptoms … and we know it can cause death. SIN is worse!! People live in denial, imagining that human nature can overcome the evil that lies within, but the mortality rate is 100%!!! Enter Jesus! As Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey few, if any, understood the depth of the crisis that plagued the entire human race. But God knew, and in fulfillment of His plan to save His chosen remnant, Jesus came to Jerusalem for one purpose: to go to the cross in order to pay the just penalty for sin for all who would believe in Him! As you live each day this week, anticipating Good Friday and then Easter, the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, know that this same Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the promised Savior, is alive and is now seated on His throne at the right hand of the Father, ruling over all things … ruling over ALL things!! It is only then that you can and will celebrate and find reason to rejoice, for He is coming again to reign on the earth, and we who believe, no matter what happens over the coming weeks and months, will reign with Him!! Praise be to our God for His amazing grace!
