The Kingdom of God!

One year ends, another begins. Centuries pass and become “ancient history” to the present generations. True wisdom, wisdom from God, understands that the passage of time is not “circular,” but rather, “linear.” History does NOT repeat itself. While there are patterns that may be repeated, life and time have a beginning and an ending. Only in understanding this truth can you discover the importance of your own life in the context of God’s plan to establish His everlasting kingdom by saving a people for Himself through His covenant of grace. “When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son” (Galatians 4:4). God’s timing of the events of Jesus’ birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension were determined by God before the world began. At the appropriate time, God sent Jesus to confront the powers of darkness and Satan himself. As the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost a new age began in preparation for the return of the King and ultimately the establishment of His eternal kingdom. Jesus revealed His power over Satan and evil and all the consequences of sin and taught people how to enter the kingdom, how to view life in this world and how to live life in this world as citizens of His kingdom. These are important truths for all who by His grace acknowledge Jesus as the Christ, God’s anointed King, the Messiah. Two kingdoms clash … only one is victorious … the Kingdom of God!!!
