“WE EXIST TO PROCLAIM THE REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST OVER ALL THINGS; GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!”

1 – “The King Becomes a Servant!”

Words From The Upper Room

It may seem easy for you and others to “believe in Jesus,” but what does that even mean?!! John began his gospel by saying, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God!” (John 1:1). But who is this “Word,” and what does any of this have to do with Jesus??? John went on to write, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Jesus was and is GOD in human flesh!! To “believe in Jesus” must include believing that THIS is true, and that everything else the Bible says about Jesus is true. The disciples were beginning to understand, but they still had so much to learn, and it would not be until after Jesus was crucified, buried and then rose from the dead that they would finally understand, as the Spirit opened their minds to receive the truth. While the majority of people around you do not believe these things are true, even many within the church, it seems, fail to grasp who Jesus is and what He came to do. And fewer still realize the impact believing these things has on the lives of those who are truly His disciples. In the evening of the day before He was crucified, Jesus met with His disciples one more time. Alone with Jesus in the upper room, the disciples would receive truth that would transform their lives. What would Jesus say in this brief time only hours before He went to the cross? What did they need to know? Over the next thirteen weeks we’ll enter into the upper room with Jesus and the disciples and listen to what He tells them, knowing the lessons taught were not only for them, but for us, too. Jesus began with a picture that is worth a thousand words! He washed their feet. In so doing He left an example for them and for all who would follow them. What do YOU need to learn as you watch the King become a servant?? Watch and listen as we enter the upper room.
