“WE EXIST TO PROCLAIM THE REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST OVER ALL THINGS; GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!”

12 – “Laborers for GOD’s Kingdom: REJOICE in THIS!”

Going … Make Disciples!

It has been said many times that “Christianity is not a spectator sport!” What does that mean for YOU??  Most people who claim to believe in Jesus seem to live as though Christianity is an “add-on” to their lives. It is their “religion of choice” … for now. Going to church or praying or reading the Bible, and trying to change certain parts of their lives is part of their focus, but it is not their priority. Living life in the world, just like those who don’t know Jesus, occupies most of their time and effort. The problem with that view of Christianity is that it does not come from the Bible!! To be a disciple of Jesus means to be CALLED and SENT! Disciples of Jesus are those who are ready and willing to leave the world behind to be followers of Jesus. Their primary goal in life is to serve the One who saved them and to make Him known to others so that they, too, may become disciples of Jesus. Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven!” True disciples of Jesus realize that our goal is not to become comfortable in this world but rather to set our hearts and minds on the world to come. That mindset reveals itself in the desire to make more disciples of Jesus by proclaiming the Gospel as we live by faith, trusting our Father in heaven to provide for all our needs, and committing ourselves to Christ and to His Body. Anything less is not Christianity … and it is not true discipleship! As you hear Jesus sending the first disciples into the world, you discover the cost of being a disciple of Jesus, but you also hear the reward that those who serve the King will receive when He comes to establish His eternal kingdom. Whatever the cost, it will be worth it in the end!!
