“WE EXIST TO PROCLAIM THE REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST OVER ALL THINGS; GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!”

13 – COMPLETE Joy!

Second Sunday of Advent: “COMPLETE Joy!”

“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full!” (John 15:11). Speaking to His disciples about their relationship with Him, Jesus explains that it is only by “abiding in His love,” only by an intimate fellowship with Him, that true joy, complete joy can be experienced. JOY is an elusive goal for us as we live in this world. A million different things can rob you of joy in an instant … IF you are looking for joy in all the wrong places!! Most people want to be “happy,” but most find it difficult, if not impossible, to be filled with joy. The “trick” is to pursue something deeper than a superficial, temporary, external happiness in order to discover a source … THE source for inner, spiritual JOY that must be received as a gift from none other than God Himself. We would be the first to tell people that idols cannot give them joy, yet we spend most of our lives expecting OUR idols to do just that! If possessing complete joy is dependent on anything or anyone in this world, you will never experience it. Jesus knew complete joy, even as He lived in this world, and He offers it to those who will draw near to God and find in Him all you need to be JOYFUL!! As people all around us look for something to give them joy, we who know the true meaning of Christmas have what they are looking for! Let’s shout it from the mountaintops!!
