Go, and Tell!

Jesus said, “This is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). To “know God” means more than simply having some vague knowledge of “a god.” To “know God” means to have an intimate knowledge of the one and only true God … knowledge that leads to an intimate relationship with God as Christ lives in us by His Spirit. This is why the Gospel begins and ends with the knowledge of the one true God who has revealed Himself in His creation, in His Son and in His Word. Most people today give little thought to God Himself. They are focused, instead, on man and life in this world. God is little more than an “asterisk” in the life of most, even those who claim to know Him. All the various religions of men fall desperately short of arriving at an accurate knowledge of God and none of them lead to an intimate relationship with Him. Only through God’s revelation of Himself by His Word and Spirit can anyone come to know God, to love God and to serve God. Praise God that He has chosen to reveal Himself to us and to draw us into fellowship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ. People all around us need to know God! They need true knowledge of God that is found only in His Son Jesus Christ through His Word as His Spirit lives within believers. Then we who by His grace know God are called to testify that He alone IS God and there is no other god. May we be found so doing when He comes!!
