It has been said that “the darkest hour is just before dawn.” God tells us in His Word that this will be true, LITERALLY! Jesus, along with the prophets and the Apostle John, in his “Revelation,” describe the scene as the sun and moon and stars are darkened … and then the light of the glory of Christ will be displayed for all the world to see!! There is another kind of darkness, spiritual darkness, that will continue to deepen up to the Rapture and then the pouring out of God’s wrath on those who are left behind. This spiritual darkness hangs like a plague over all those who do not know the one true God who has revealed Himself in His creation, in His Word and in His Son Jesus Christ. It affects every human being who is alive on the earth today, except those who have been delivered by the power of God through the work of His Spirit, making us new creations and moving us to believe in Jesus Christ!! Jesus IS “the Light of the world!” Spiritual darkness leaves people in their natural condition: spiritual death. People do not need to do anything to perish under the just judgment of God. We are all, by nature, “children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3). “But God …” Salvation is GOD’s work and eternal life is God’s gift. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6). Praise God from whom all blessings flow! In the end, the LIGHT will overcome the darkness!! Let the light of Christ shine through you!
