“I AM!”
Perhaps more than ever before we are being told that we must make every effort to be “safe.” But what does that mean? Can you ever be totally “safe” as you live in this world??? Jesus used the illustration of sheep in a pasture to give a picture of the life He gives to those who believe in Him, who follow Him. Jesus may have even been thinking about Psalm 23 as He spoke to the disciples and to others about entering into the safety of the “sheepfold” and listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd. But before we talk about following the Good Shepherd, we need to talk about finding this “pasture” that Jesus talks about … a place where we can live life “abundantly.” Is this really possible? Jesus says it is!! In fact, Jesus says, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly!” (John 10:10). How do you enter into this “life” that Jesus came to give His sheep? What if such a life actually exists in THIS world?? What would you give to find it, to experience it, to LIVE it??? Or do you already have it?!?!?! If you know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, and if you believe His Word and His promises, this life IS yours and there is “safety” in living it for the glory of God. Let’s DO this!!! Where do you start? “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, He will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9).
