THIS is Eternal Life!
When the Spirit of God is at work in you, the blessing of knowing God and being one of His people becomes the foundation upon which you build your life, the source of your identity, and the guiding principle for your existence. Telling everyone, “We’re all God’s children” is not only untrue but also extremely harmful to those without the Spirit, who are already being deceived by the sinful nature within them and by the lies of the enemy. People need to know their need for a Savior. This was the reason for the Law, for what is called the “Mosaic Covenant,” or the “Old Covenant.” Through the Law given through Moses God showed the people of Israel their sin and their need for forgiveness, and He showed them the inability of the sinful nature to “fix” itself!! Through Jeremiah and other prophets God revealed the coming of the “NEW Covenant,” where God Himself would change the hearts and minds of those whom He would choose by the power of His Spirit. GOD does what we could not do! As God is at work in the Church today, calling people to believe in Jesus through the Gospel, so He has promised to do among the Jews when Jesus returns. God WILL have a people for Himself! What a blessing to be born again by the Spirit and to know that you are one of God’s children. Amazing grace!!
