Stand Alone Sermon

God is the God of history, not simply today. From the very beginning of time until this very moment and beyond, God is in full control of events, orchestrating history in order to tell “his story” throughout all of creation. This is true in the major and minor events of history. This is true for the most influential leader and for the average worker. Ultimately, God is working all things together for His glory, according to His plans. This can be seen especially clearly in the lives of two men: Paul, a Roman Jew from the first century, and Martin Luther, a German man from the sixteenth century. Both of these men lived their early lives in the darkness of sin, but God, through the powerful working of His gospel, brought them out of the darkness and into the light! The best news is that God was is still doing this in the hearts and lives of countless others throughout history and today!
