We’re In This Together!
You have probably heard it said that God is a God of relationship and because we were created in His image, we were created for relationships! Yet we know that it is here that sin causes its greatest challenges. The immediate result of sin was broken relationships. Adam and Eve hid from God, and Adam blamed Eve for tempting him with the forbidden fruit. So it began … and so it continues!! BUT, in Christ, through the work of His Spirit, we who believe have been made “new creations.” God has not only reconciled us to Himself through faith in Jesus but has also reconciled us to other believers, in whom the same Spirit is now at work. “We HAVE the mind of Christ” (I Corinthians 2:16). No longer controlled by the old nature that wants only to please itself, we who are “in Christ” are led by His Spirit to humbly serve one another, following the example of Jesus Himself, who laid down His life for us. It’s all about your attitude, and your attitude reveals your heart. Is pleasing Jesus and serving others more important to you than pleasing only the old “self?” God calls us to a higher standard that will bring joy to us and to those around us, and that will bear fruit … even in the world to come!!
