THIS is Eternal Life!

JESUS said, “Enter by the narrow gate.  For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few!” (Matthew 7:13-14).  Jesus was talking about eternal life, spiritual life, and He revealed at the very beginning of His ministry that when compared to those who will perish, the number of those who will be saved will be few.  How does that make you feel?  Most people in our world and in our culture reject these words of Jesus, choosing to believe instead that almost everyone will “go to heaven,” and judgment is only for a very, very small minority of really bad people because everyone knows, “God is LOVE!”  However, the opening chapters of the Bible reveal the truth that Jesus later confirms:  All mankind is deserving of God’s judgment and only those who receive God’s grace and who believe God’s promises will be saved from His coming judgment.  Eternal life is a gift of God’s grace to those whom He chooses!  And this gift is received by faith in the One who is the “Seed of Abraham,” Jesus Christ!!  History is HIS-story and it is only through the knowledge of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that the way of life is revealed.  Are YOU one of “Abraham’s offspring”?  (Galatians 3:29).
