THIS is Eternal Life!
Children need love. Children need guidance. Children need protection. Children need nurture and comfort. Children need discipline and correction. Children need all these things and more, and our Father in heaven has provided for the needs of children through mothers and fathers and in the fellowship of Christ’s Body, the Church. When we think of families a lot of thoughts come to mind, both positive and negative, yet it is in the context of God’s love for HIS children that we find not only the perfect model, but also the wisdom and strength we need to fulfill our roles as parents and as children of God. It is when we ourselves come to our Father in heaven as children, confessing our need and dependence upon Him, that we find the direction we need in the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord!! God has given to mothers and fathers the most difficult, and yet the most rewarding task known to mankind: raising the next generation to know, love and serve the one true God! It is in following the Good Shepherd that we find assurance and hope for today and tomorrow. He goes before us every step of the way and He will bring us finally to our destination, into the very presence of the LORD, our God!!
