‘From Eden … to the Cross!’

Some people believe that everyone questions God sometimes. They believe that everyone has fears and wonders at times if God is with them. But even if that were true, it shouldn’t be!! And it certainly doesn’t NEED to be! God gives us His Word and His Spirit to teach us, and by learning how He has worked in the past we can know how He is at work in the world today and in our own lives. The entire history of the people of Israel, recorded for us through the writers of the Old Testament, displays the activity of God for the good of His people and for His own glory! The Apostle Paul writes to the believers in Corinth, “Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come” (I Corinthians 10:11). Each day, each week, each month and year, bring a variety of good things and opportunities, along with trials, struggles and challenges. How you act and how you respond depends on your knowledge of God and your belief, or lack of belief, that He is at work in the circumstances of your life and in the world around you. Learning from the past is one thing; seeing how God has worked in the past is another, because it helps you to make better choices and to live with hope and courage because you KNOW you can trust God to help you and to fight for you as you seek to honor and obey Him. As He has fought for His people in the past, so He is fighting and will fight for you!!!
