The Kingdom of God!
Thousands of voices are speaking all around us today … whose voice has your attention?? An old hymn says,“This is my Father’s world, O let me ne’er forget, that though the wrong seems oft so strong, GOD is the Ruler yet!” We read in Psalm 46: “The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; He utters His voice, the earth melts. The LORDofhostsiswithus;theGodofJacobisourfortress”(vs.6-7). ItisthisGod,theonlytrueGod,theOne who created the heavens and the earth, who speaks through His Word today to all those who are given ears to hear by His Spirit. Are you listening? Have you heard His voice? Do you know Him? We can talk about God’s kingdom, His salvation and His covenant, yet miss the hope He offers! “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son!” (Hebrews 1:1-2). Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. … My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they will never perish” (John 10:14,27). To whom are you listening? Do you hear the voice of the Good Shepherd saying, “Come to ME!”?? The Prophets tell us what the future holds: Judgment and Salvation. Which one is in your future? It depends upon whose voice you are listening to and whose voice you believe!!
