“You Are My Witnesses!”
“Life” is described by some as a “journey” … but a journey to where?? It is the failure of the majority of people on the earth to consider their eternal destination that leaves them living without purpose. We live under the shadow of eternity every day. Not one person knows whether he or she will be here on this earth tomorrow. That thought scares and depresses most people to the point that they live their lives running away from reality, trying to “get the most out of life,” living in fear of what tomorrow may bring. The current “pandemic” has revealed the underlying fear in which people live and the lengths to which people will go to pursue an illusion of security. It is in the midst of this uncertainty that Jesus calls us to be His witnesses. Jesus offers a life based on the sure and certain hope of an eternity lived in the presence of God in a new heaven and a new earth! Jesus says you can KNOW that you have eternal life through the work of His Spirit within you, as you draw near to His Father by faith, believing that Jesus paid your debt on the cross. You can KNOW that your sins are forgiven, and that God sees you as righteous in Christ. You can KNOW that your journey ends/begins in the very presence of the God who is now “Abba, Father,” to YOU!!! When YOU know this truth, you want others to know it, too. If you have placed your faith in Jesus, He is saying, “YOU are MY witness!” Someone needs to hear the good news from YOU! Are you ready???
