“WE EXIST TO PROCLAIM THE REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST OVER ALL THINGS; GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!”

20 – “One of the Hardest Things to Overcome: Your Attitude!”

Romans: “The Gospel of Jesus Christ: Hear It! Believe It! Live It!”

The Bible is God’s Word. If you are a Christian, truly born again by the Spirit of God, you believe the words on the pages of the Bible to be the very Word of God, written by men but inspired by the Spirit of God. How does that affect the way you live your daily life? So often, Christians seem to struggle as much as unbelievers in know what to do in certain circumstances and how to respond or react in various situations. Yet at the beginning of Romans 12 the Apostle Paul tells us that it all begins in our heads, with the transforming and renewal of our minds by the Spirit. How does the Spirit do that? Through the hearing, believing, and living out God’s Word!! God TELLS us how to THINK!! And how you think affects how you feel … and how you feel determines how you act! God does not “suggest” how to think or feel or act, but rather, He TELLS us! “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2). What you discover in our text for today is instruction on how to develop a proper attitude toward good and toward evil that will help you to discern how to live in relationships with others, both within the Body of Christ and outside the Body of Christ. While many Christians have faced these challenges through the centuries, in some way, they are “new” to believers in our nation. More than ever, we need to hear the instruction of God’s Word to help us navigate the narrow path that Jesus spoke about, in order to live out the Gospel in a way that builds up the Body of Christ and honors God, who called us with a holy calling. We need to hear it, believe it, and live it!!
