Go, and Tell!
Can it be true that the entire human race is deserving of God’s wrath and judgment and that apart from God’s intervention we would ALL, each and every one, perish in our sin?? YES!! “ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “The wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of GOD is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). How, then, do sinful, spiritually dead people have any hope of approaching the holy God, “who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see”? (I Timothy 6:16). GRACE!! Dead people have no power to awaken themselves, to breathe life into themselves! Dead people have no desire to know God, to love God or to serve God. Dead people cannot remove God’s wrath and judgment from themselves. We are born in a sinful state and we would remain in that condition, “without God and without hope in the world” (Ephesians 2:12), “BUT GOD …” GRACE is God’s choice to place His favor on those who are undeserving in order to make them His children … forever! God’s grace comes with the power to bring life to those who are dead. Grace is the only bridge that crosses the chasm of hell and leads safely to the other side, into the presence of God, where there is life eternal … perfect love, perfect peace, perfect joy … forever!!! “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound!”
