Go, and Tell!
“Believing in Jesus” is necessary for receiving eternal life, rather than facing God’s just judgment against sin. Jesus said, “For God so (thus) loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). It is vitally important, then, to know what it means to“believe in Jesus.” God’s grace is intended to lead people to repentance (turning from self and sin) and faith (trusting in Jesus Christ for forgiveness and life). To “believe in Jesus” you must know WHO Jesus is and WHAT He has done, otherwise, why would you repent and believe?? You cannot and will not truly trust someone whom you do not know! So who IS Jesus?? This was THE question Jesus asked His disciples about Himself: “Who do YOU say I am?” (Matthew 16:15). Get this wrong and all you have left is “religion.” Jesus was clearly a “real man.” He lived and walked in this world as a man. Yet, He was and is, at the same time, truly God! And as God in the flesh He demands a response of faith and obedience from those who believe in Him. The Gospel itself is a message from God that is centered around His grace in Jesus, the Christ, the eternal Son of God. If Jesus is not who He says He is, then He is a liar, a fraud, an impostor. Such a “man” would not be worthy of our trust, our devotion, or our worship! Do you KNOW Jesus? Do you BELIEVE IN Jesus? You can only be saved and live to share the Gospel if you answer these questions correctly!!
