“You Are My Witnesses!”

Ignorance is NOT bliss … especially when it comes to knowing GOD!! Picking and choosing which parts of God’s character you will use to create your own “god,” then trusting that what you don’t know won’t “hurt” you will lead to the words Jesus says many will say to Him when He returns, “Lord, Lord!” … and His surprising response: “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:21-23). Relying on the idea that God loves everybody and receives “whosoever comes,” many ignore the holiness of God that requires justice for sinners. Believing God’s grace reaches out to everyone, and His mercy overrules His justice, these imagine a wide road that leads to heaven with virtually everyone on it and many different “on-ramps.” That’s not what JESUS teaches!! As witnesses of Jesus, we are called to proclaim the truth about God to those whom God sends us. In order to lead people to Christ they must first understand the need for the cross. They must know and confess their sin, AND they must realize the demands of God’s holiness. Only then do God’s love and mercy in Jesus make sense, overwhelming the soul with thanksgiving to God! May the Spirit of the Lord use His Word to encourage His children and to call those who are still separated from God to receive His offer of forgiveness and life through faith in Jesus Christ!!
